Introduction

We are a family-owned global business that is committed to acting responsibly. 

Our corporate values  and policies promote ethical business practices.  We have a zero tolerance of slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking.  We are committed to our values  and Corporate Social Responsibility  and Corporate Ethics Policies.

We also require the same high standards from our contractors, suppliers and other business partners.

Structure

BFS is a global financial services company providing Factoring, Invoice Discounting, Trade Finance, Asset Finance, Construction Finance, Export Finance, Recruitment Finance, Bad Debt Protection and Foreign Exchange services.  It delivers such services to SMEs in more than 300 industry sectors worldwide.

With more than 1,300 employees globally, BFS has offices in the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, the Netherlands, United States of America, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia. It is the largest independent Invoice Finance provider in the United Kingdom, where it has 19 offices.

BFS is supported and fully owned by the Bibby Line Group.  The Bibby Line Group is a family business, with a 200 year heritage.  It is one of the longest established businesses in the United Kingdom.

Policies

Our Corporate Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility policies support our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in our own business and all our business relationships .  They also drive the implementation and enforcement of effective systems and controls to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.

Supply Chains and Suppliers

We procure around the world a wide range of services and products.  These include facilities management, maintenance and cleaning,  office equipment and supplies,  utilities, communications and IT software/hardware, recruitment,  temporary staff; management consultancy, and training.

All our suppliers are expected to comply with all national and local, relevant law and regulations.

We will not work with any organisation that has been or is found to be knowingly involved in modern slavery.

Due Diligence/Risk Management/PIs

Our suppliers are procured directly by with the oversight of our Procurement Manager and an appropriately authorised Accountable Executive in accordance with our documented procurement procedure.

Suppliers must provide information about their anti-bribery, money laundering and other financial crime controls, Code of Conduct and similar policies, approach to equality and diversity, health and safety and practices relating to the environment.  With the introduction of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, they must also attest that they are not knowingly involved in modern slavery.

Employees, Contractors and Business Partners

We respect and support the human rights of our employees, contractors  and business partners.  They have access to our Code of Conduct and Whistleblowing Policies.  They are encouraged to raise any concerns about their treatment by the Company and anyone working within it in confidence and without fear.

Communication and Employee Development/Training

I and the Chief Executive,  the Head of Learning and Development and the Head of Communications and Engagement ensure that all employees, contractors and relevant Business Partners are informed about, understand, and support our values and policies.

We will continue to provide the necessary resources and investment to ensure that our company policies and procedures  are up to date, relevant and understood.
