Our people are our greatest asset, and we have motivated, experienced teams supporting clients across the world. We’re #OneTeam so all of our colleagues are equally important to us, but in the essence of timing, here’s a little bit about our Leadership Team.

Jonathan Andrew

Jonathan Andrew

Chief Executive Officer

Jonathan has worked in global financial services and technology for more than 30 years, and was appointed as Global Chief Executive in July 2020.

He has an established record of successfully leading and growing high performing international businesses, in particular as Global Chief Executive of Siemens’ Financial Services Commercial Finance business and a number of GE Capital units.

In his spare time Jonathan enjoys skiing, triathlon and classic car endurance racing (all accompanied by his dog, Benny).

Theo Chatha

Chief Financial Officer

Theo joined BFS in September 2019 having spent 11 years with Close Brothers Group Plc. He’s held a variety of executive roles at Close Brothers, both in the Group Head Office and Banking Divisions, with his last role being Bank Finance Director.

Outside of work, when not being bossed around by his two little girls, Theo enjoys watching snooker, boxing, and basketball being a big fan of Muhammad Ali and Michael Jordan.

Lucile Knight

Lucile Knight

Chief Strategic Development Officer

A French citizen domiciled in the UK, Lucile joined BFS as Chief Strategic Development Officer in January 2021 from Clarasys, a management consultancy, where she was the Head of the Financial Services practice. Prior to Clarasys worked at Baringa Partners as a management consultant in the Financial Services practice.

Lucile has a keen interest in art, in particular the Vienna Secession Movement. She also enjoys jazz music and is currently learning to play the guitar.

Helen Norris

Chief People & Organisation Officer

Helen joined BFS in January 2022 as Chief People & Organisation Officer. Prior to this, she spent more than three years as Chief People Officer at the British Business Bank. Helen has over 30 years of people insights, all within financial services, including senior HR and organisation roles at HSBC and Nationwide, where she spent almost six years.

Outside of work, Helen enjoys being a school governor and following Harlequins Rugby Club.

Richard Olver

Chief Operations Officer

Richard joined BFS as Chief Operations & Information Technology Officer in December 2020, having held a variety of senior executive roles at Transamerica Commercial Finance, GE Commercial Distribution Finance and Siemens Commercial Finance.

Richard has a proven track record in delivering corporate product delivery platform capabilities, change management and new business projects.

A keen sports fan, with a particular interest in motorsport, when not watching cars Richard can be found tinkering with his own. He also enjoys the outdoors with his family and their two Weimaraner.

Ian Ramsden

Chief Risk Officer

Ian first joined BFS in 2005 from Barclays PLC where he spent more than 17 years. Following 10 successful years as UK Risk Director, Ian became Chief Risk Officer in January 2016. Ian oversees BFS’s Treasury function and headed-up our successful securitisation - a process which saw BFS UK increase its total available funding to more than £1bn.

Ian has interests in rugby (both codes) and enjoys all forms of motorsport.

Derek Ryan

Derek Ryan

UK Managing Director

Derek joined BFS UK in September 2021. He has more than 17 years’ experience in commercial finance having held a variety of senior executive, global operations and strategy positions across the sector, including roles in the UK, Germany, Sweden and Indonesia.

Most recently, Derek was Global Head of Invoice Finance at Siemens Financial Services – Commercial Finance where he also spent time as Head of Global Operations and as CEO for Indonesia and CEO for the Nordics.

Axel Scholz

Chief Revenue Officer

With over 20 year experience in Working Capital and Asset Finance across various regions and cultures, Axel Scholz joined BFS in January 2021.

Axel, a German citizen living in the UK, has held a number of senior executive roles within the German co-operative banking group and at Siemens Financial Services. He also has extensive experience of building Greenfield finance businesses in Asia Pacific.

Outside of work, Axel enjoys travel, hiking and photography.
