Is your recruitment business ready for IR35?

Susan Farmer, Head of Recruitment Finance at BFS, shares guidance on the IR35 legislation

New IR35 legislation is due to be implemented in April 2020 that will extend and amend the current off-payroll working rules (or “IR35”).  The Government estimates that this will affect 20,000 recruitment agencies who provide off-payroll workers via intermediaries such as personal service companies, to medium and large-sized private sector end-clients and the public sector.

It's important that you familiarise yourself with these rule changes and understand how you will manage the administration and be compliant, and whether you require additional support with funding and/or payroll where you are required to account for and report any tax and NIC due under PAYE.

We recently hosted an IR35 webinar with Susan Farmer, BFS Head of Recruitment Finance, Lee Knight, Employer Solutions Director and David Williams-Richardson, both from RSM. Watch the webinar and find out if you are "IR35 Ready".
