We’ve been a NACFB Patron for over 10 years and work closely with NACFB Member Brokers across the whole of the UK. We were delighted to be awarded Factoring and Invoice Discounter of the Year at the 2024 NACFB Commercial Lender Awards. Being recognised by the broker community in this way is a huge honour and we’re determined to build on this sentiment by bolstering our support further.

Meet the team
You’ll be supported by our friendly and approachable team of over 75 specialist sales people across the UK, led by our experienced Regional Heads of Sales.

UK Sales Director
Stephen Hand
Steve has over 20 years’ experience in financial services and spent 13 years working in Lloyds Banking Group within commercial finance for SMEs. He has held a variety of leadership positions within Lloyds, most recently as National Head of Invoice and Asset Finance Sales. Steve joined BFS in 2022, and leads our passionate and experienced sales team of Invoice Finance specialists across the whole of the UK.
Head of Broker and Introducer
David Webb
David has over 35 years’ experience in financial services, having worked in Retail Banking at Barclays Bank and Asset Finance at First National Bank prior to joining BFS. David has held multiple sales roles during his time at BFS, leading teams of Business Development Managers across various regions. He now focuses on developing our support for the intermediary community, improving how we engage with them and their clients.
Regional Head of Corporate – North
Daniel Williams
Dan has more than 20 years’ experience within commercial finance and corporate banking across the SME and mid-market space. Dan heads up the Corporate North team which provides working capital and cashflow solutions to support a wide range of business goals including growth, expansion, diversification, asset purchase, acquisition and management buy-outs.
Regional Head of Corporate – Central & South
Steve Nixon
Steve has worked in Asset Based Lending and Invoice Financing for over 25 years, holding a variety of positions including many years as Southern Sales Director for one of the industry’s leading asset based lenders. Steve and his team offer financial solutions for our more complex clients.
National Business Manager
Stuart Lee
Stuart has worked in Invoice Finance within BFS for more than 8 years, specialising in commercial finance as a Business Development Manager for 6 years before moving into his current role as National Business Manager. Stuart oversees the BFS sales team across the UK to drive new business success.
Head of Sales – East Midlands
Kelly Hamill
Kelly has worked in UK Banking and Commercial Finance for 30 years, with over half of this spent in Invoice Finance and Asset Finance. He has been working within BFS for the last 10 years, dealing with all aspects of Asset Based Lending. Kelly and his experienced team support a range of transactions, including working capital and cashflow, import and export, MBIs and MBOs and funding of contractual debt.
Head of Sales – London
Calogero Mingoia
Calogero has worked across invoice finance and commercial finance for more than 16 years, with a specific focus on the construction sector. Prior to joining BFS, he worked at Lloyds Banking Group gaining experience across multiple roles, most recently as Head of Sales for London and East regions. Calogero is also is CIMA qualified to a Strategic Level.
Head of Sales – South East
Mark Turner
Mark has over 20 years’ experience in Invoice Finance, Banking and Commercial finance. He has been at BFS for almost 10 years, working across both sales and operational roles allowing him to gain experience in client management and business development. Mark now leads the sales team in the South East, supporting SMEs in the region.

Invoice Discounting
Gives your client more immediate access to cash tied up in unpaid invoices. Your client retains responsibility for credit control.
Factoring
Gives your client more immediate access to cash tied up in unpaid invoices. We handle your client’s credit control.
Asset Finance
Allows your client to release cash from existing assets or remove the need for significant upfront investment. We offer Leasing, Hire Purchase and Refinancing solutions.
Cashflow Advance
Releases additional funding which, combined with the client’s core Invoice Finance facility, provides up to 100% of their approved sales ledger.
Cashflow Loan
Provides additional funding of up to 20% of the value of your client’s Invoice Finance facility, ranging from £250k to £1m, to support acquisitions, debt refinancing, and growth opportunities.
Supporting International trade
Foreign Exchange
We offer spot conversions for immediate needs or forward contracts to minimise the risk of future currency fluctuations.
Export Finance
Helps exporters better manage overseas relationships, bridging the gap between raising an invoice and getting paid. Our specialist team provide language, currency, time zone and legal support.
Trade Finance
Trade finance can provide the funds your clients need to purchase stock and fulfil orders. We work with trade specialists Seneca who provide this product, with any associated commissions for introductions you have given us payable by them. Suitable for limited companies.
Specialist solutions
Construction Finance
We advance cash against applications for payment and invoices. This allows your client to meet payment obligations through the various stages of a contract.
Contractual Debt Finance
Supports clients that work on a contractual basis. It advances funds against part payments within a contract.
Recruitment Finance
Gives your recruitment agency clients more immediate access to cash tied up in unpaid invoices, alongside credit control and payroll support.
Bad Debt Protection
Used alongside Invoice Financing to give your client peace of mind by protecting their business against the impact of a customer’s insolvency or inability to pay.

£500k funding provided
Our client is an established £7m sole trader who had previously been declined Invoice Finance due to the business being unincorporated. We structured a £500k facility which will provide the business with long sought-after working capital, allowing them to bridge their debtor's payment terms.

We supported a client who's lender had terminated their agreement due to continued losses experienced as a result of bad debt. We agreed an enhanced facility with a higher export cap and Bad Debt Protection. We also provided a FX solution on a forward contract basis to improve profitability.

We agreed a Hire Purchase facility for a Porsche Taycan to be used as the director's company vehicle. The customer paid a 10% deposit and the VAT, and we funded the balance over 4 years. We structured the facility in 3 days so the customer could collect the Porsche ready for the weekend!

We funded a specialist electrical and mechanical engineering business with a £500,000 Confidential Construction Finance facility to support working capital and growth aspirations. Our client chose to work with us because of our specialist knowledge and experience within the sector, and our ability to fund various types of contracts for a variety of end customers.

We supported a specialist aviation supplier which operates across the globe with a £850,000 Confidential Invoice Discounting Export facility. Dealing with complex debt type, as well as some stiff competition, we were pleased to be chosen as the funder of choice due to our flexibility.

We agreed a £250,000 Factoring facility for a point of sale and printing business based in Glasgow. Our funding provided enough cash for the client to complete a Management Buyout of the existing directors of the business and will also support cashflow into the future.
