Experienced deal maker promoted to head of sales for Manchester region
The UK’s largest invoice finance provider, Bibby Financial Services (BFS), has appointed proven deal maker Dan Burton as its head of sales for Manchester, as part of a plan to increase funding support to businesses in the region.
Dan – who was nominated and commended for the Insider North West Young Professional of the Year 2014 – has been with the funder for seven years, most recently as Manager in the Corporate team.
From 1 May, Dan heads-up the funder’s sales efforts in the Manchester area, managing a team of 10 and reporting into Regional Sales Director, Stephen Johnson.
Dan said: “I’m delighted with the new role and this is a fantastic opportunity to continue to push the business forward by delivering excellent service to prospective new clients in need of flexible funding.
“Development of our professional relationship network is key to our success and therefore an essential part of our strategy. We’re now looking to enhance these relationships to provide further support to businesses of all sizes.”
Dan joined BFS in 2007 and since this time has gained extensive experience in structuring a range of deals, including trade finance, MBOs, construction finance, turnaround and restructures.
Commenting on the appointment, Stephen Johnson said: “I’m delighted to appoint Dan as Head of Sales for Manchester. He is a valuable member of the Bibby Financial Services family and a proven deal maker.
“Dan’s commitment, tenacity and knowledge of the business environment are real assets to us, and I’m confident that his expertise will benefit our efforts in the area; enabling us to increase the vital support we provide to businesses.”
During his time in the Corporate team, Dan structured a number of notable deals, including a facility for Montgomery Tomlinson, which saved a number of jobs in the local area. In 2013, Dan completed the Fast Track Development programme – a scheme for Bibby Financial Services’ talented, young professionals.
Dan continued said: “Over the past year, we have invested in our people and processes so we’re now in a great position to provide funding to businesses looking to grow and thrive.
“We’re currently providing upwards of £63million in funding to support businesses in the North West and we hope to increase this further over the coming years.”
