Expansion plans continued with international appointment
New managing director of international business
Specialist funder, Bibby Financial Services (BFS), has continued its expansion plans with the appointment of Marie Harvey as Managing Director for Bibby Financial Services International.
Harvey has 11 years’ experience in invoice finance will take up her new role on 1 March, heading-up a team of 30 people based in Banbury.
Commenting on her new role, Harvey said: “Bibby Financial Services is an extremely forward thinking and ambitious organisation.
“I’m looking forward to starting my new role and increasing the level of funding we provide to businesses trading internationally.
“We have exposure to over 100 territories and offer greater levels of funding than other invoice finance providers through our international operations and understanding of different territories.”
Following roles at Ultimate Finance PLC and RBS Invoice Finance, Harvey joined BFS in 2008. Since this time, she has spent time with BFS Ireland and the funder’s invoice discounting team in the UK, before taking on the role as Operations Director for the international team.
Speaking of the appointment, Commercial Director, Edward Winterton, said: “Marie’s knowledge of the global business environment is unrivalled so we’re pleased to have her on board as Managing Director for our international business.
“Marie’s operational experience is invaluable and she will undoubtedly help to drive our international business forward in line with our wider expansion plans.”
The announcement signals the third senior appointment by the invoice financier this year following appointments of Dave Golding as UK Sales Director and Helen Wheeler as Managing Director for Construction Finance in February.
Winterton continued: “It’s clear that exporting is high on the Government agenda - particularly with its target of doubling exports to £1 trillion by 2020. With multilingual and multi-currency capabilities and offices in 16 countries around the world, we are in a great position to support businesses looking for success in overseas markets.
“Marie’s appointment forms part of our expansion plans for 2014 and beyond.”
